The headband get an elctric signal from the brain and define a value from relaxation to attention, next a dynamic surface is moving according to the mind.
I worked on the technical part for this project by Ann-Kristin Abel.

From the observation that depending on the time you let a felt pen on a tissue, you get a more or less large dot.The idea is to create a printer machine considering time as a variable. This is the first prototype with 4 pen and motors. It's made with processing, openCV and arduino.

The time printer project is dealing with the idea of measuring time. I was inspired by Paul Virilio taughts about "real time".

Listening Post is a ‘dynamic portrait’ of online communication, displaying uncensored fragments of text, sampled in real-time, from public internet chatrooms and bulletin boards. With this work Mark Hansen and Ben Rubin are illustrating Virilio idea of immediacy and instantaneity. An advertisement was praising cellular phones with the words: “Planet Earth has never been this small”. Indeed an unmeasured amount of data sharing made it happens. In addition the speed exchange of these data escape totally to the human perception of time.

Roman Opalka work is about time in an opposite way. In 1965, in his studio in Warsaw, Opalka began painting a process of counting - from one to infinity. Starting in the top left-hand corner of the canvas and finishing in the bottom right-hand corner, the tiny numbers are painted in horizontal rows. Each new canvas, which the artist calls a 'detail', takes up counting where the last left off. Each 'detail' is the same size (196 x 135 cm), the dimension of his studio door in Warsaw. All details have the same title, "1965 / 1 – ∞"; the idea does not date although the artist has pledged his life to its execution: 'All my work is a single thing, the description from number one to infinity. A single thing, a single life.'

Self-Replicating machine

Universal Constructor is a self-replicating machine in a cellular automata (CA) environment. It was designed in the 1940s, without the use of a computer by John von Neumann.

Last year was created this cheap 3d printer made with Arduino, "RepRap". It's a self-replicating machine creating every pieces required to create another same 3d printer
